In October 2007, the Miami Police Department offered me a chance to participate in a promotion assessment center for their police officers.  I jumped at the chance!  It is an honor to be a part of such an important task and I was thrilled to be included.  Not only did I get to assist in the assessment, but of course, I got to visit with Edna!  I stayed a week in Miami and every evening, Edna would pick me up and we'd have dinner.  She is a true delight.  She is very smart and quick-witted.  I enjoyed talking with her about all kinds of things.  We even went to a movie.  Here is a photo of me & Edna at one of her favorite Italian restaurants called "Mario the Baker". 

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Buchanan while on a visit to Miami.  I was so thrilled!  I have admired her as an author and writer for years. To finally get to talk with her in person was definitely one of the best highlights of my life.  She is a wonderful person.  We chatted like we had known each other for years.  The picture to the left was taken at the News Cafe on Ocean Drive in South Beach Miami.  We had lunch and then headed to her home.  I got to meet Punky and Gordon Lobi (right picture), her toughest critics who love her dearly.  We shared stories and laughs, and of course, talked about Britt!   Her quick wit is exceeded only by her charm!  It was a meeting far better than I had ever hoped for.
